Journey to the North


Day 1

Arrive at Kotoka International Air Port. A guide will meet you at the Air Port to transfer group to hotel. There will be an orientation after dinner to welcome you and no more about the tour.

Day 2

Depart to visit the city of Accra, visit the Independence Square, National Museum, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. Continue to Aburi and visit the Aburi Botanical Garden. Continue to the Akwapim Togo Ridge. Enjoy watching the townships of Tema and others from a far distance. Return to Accra. (spend the night in a 3-star hotel)

Day 3

Depart Accra to Kumasi, visit the Manhyia Palace the site of the chief of the Great Ashanti Kingdom, Prempeh II Jubilee Museum, the central market, one of the biggest markets in West Africa. Crown the day with a visit to the Cultural Center. (overnight in Kumasi,3-star)

Day 4

Depart to the Northern part of Ghana through numerous small farming communities, Fiema-Boabeng Monkeys village. (overnight at Fiema, Budget)

Day 5

Depart Fiema to Kintampo to visit the Water falls and Fuller Falls. Embark on about 4 hours drive to Mole National Park. (overnight at the Mole Motel).

Day 6

Report early morning at the information center to prepare to trek antelopes, elephants, buffalos, mokeys, warthogs andother species of mammals, reptiles and birds. Back to motel for a good rest and visit Larabanga to see the acient mosque and the Mysterious Stone.(overnight at Mole Motel)

Day 7

Depart Mole to Navorongo,a stopover at the Yaa Naa's Palace to great the chief of the Wa kingdom.(Overnight at Navorongo,2-star)

Day 8

Depart Navorongo through Bolega , visit the Page Crocodile pond where you can sit on a Crocodile. Continue to Nania Slave Camp which use to be the camp site for slaves brought from other West African countries.(overnight at Sirigu, Budget)

Day 9

Depart sirigu after a village tour in Sirigu to Bolega Art Center for some unique souvenir. Go hiking in the Tongo Hills, then continue to Tamale.(Overnight at Tamale,2 star)

Day 10

Depart to Kumasi. Visit the Bonwire to meet locals using their skill to wave Ghana's most valued fabric (Kente), shop for some colourful Kente and return to Kumasi. (Overnight at Kumasi, 3-star)

Day 11

Depart Kumasi to Akosombo, stopover at Tafo Cocoa Research Institute to have a tour on every bit of information about Cocoa and have the privilege to purchase some product like soap, Milo, chocolate and so on made from Cocoa.( Overnight at Afrikiko Resort, 2-star)

Day 12

Have enough rest by the largest man-made lake in the World, Cruise on the lake in the afternoon and back to hotel.

Day 13

Depart Akosombo to Wli Water Falls, The falls offers opportunity for swimming. Return to Tafi Monkeys village to have encounter with the friendly monkeys. Depart to Accra. (Overnight in Accra,3-star)

Day 14

Breakfast. Day at leisure for last minute shopping and packing.Farewell dinner outside hotel.
